History of Budva has about 2500 years. Scientists and historians agree that Budva was originally an island, and later was connected to the mainland by a sandy isthmus. According to legend, the city was founded by Phoenician Cadmus, who was expelled from Greece and found here a shelter for himself and his wife Harmony.
